Senior Android Developer - 12-Month Contract

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Type: Contract

We're looking for an experienced Senior Android Developer to join a high-impact mobile team working on a widely used student app with over 90,000 active users globally. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to greenfield feature development, revamp existing functionality, and help shape the roadmap for a product that supports thousands of users worldwide.

What you'll do:

• Design and develop Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose (essential).
• Modernize legacy XML-based code and migrate to Jetpack Compose.
• Collaborate with UX designers, QA, and analytics teams to deliver polished, accessible features.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and mentor junior developers.
• Wear multiple hats QA, accessibility, analytics, and manual code reviews.

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of Android development experience with strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Solid understanding of Android SDKs, frameworks, and RESTful API integration.
• Experience with Firebase is a bonus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Comfortable taking ownership and working in a dynamic environment.
