Job Description

Joyous Jungle is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Barista to join our team in our Crawfordville, FL location. The Barista is a role where you will serve our customers by making hot and cold drinks. This could include coffee, espresso drinks, tea and smoothies, as well as our delicious food items. Additionally, you will assist the cashier/front counter on checking in and greeting customers.

Ideal Applicant:
This person should have a positive attitude, be enthusiastic and enjoy working around all types of people, especially children. The candidate will be reliable, have excellent customer service skills, prior experience working in the cafe industry and prior experience with inventory management. Experience is desired but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, blended coffee, and tea, to customers while correctly customizing orders. Prepare and serve food and baked goods, including breakfast pastries, muffins, and bagels.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions and resolving issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies.
• Provide information about services, menu items and make recommendations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth operation.
• Fill in where needed and greet customers warmly and check them in with a smile.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using a point-of-sale system.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the café area.
• Do frequent spot checks of play areas and restrooms for cleanliness.
• Cross-train as a Cashier to accurately check in and process point of sale transactions according to our standards.

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices. 
• A good memory to manage multiple orders at the same time and recall faces, names, and preferences of frequent patrons
• Ability to serve customers quickly, efficiently and kindly
• Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time
• Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and reach over your head
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and some holidays
• Must be able to pass a background check for working around children
• Must enjoy working around children
• Assist with the daily operations and support team members as needed
